Mother's Day

There is no one in the world quite like your Mum.
They're there for you no matter what, they pick you up when you're down -
dust you off, fix you up and put you back on your feet.

My Mum is my best friend.
I'm one of the lucky daughters who can have both a mother/daughter relationship and a best friend relationship with their Mum - and I couldn't ask for anything better.

Sunday, May 13 is Mother's Day - the day where you really should spoil your mum, grandma or whatever special lady in your life.
Sure, I believe they should be spoiled every day - but we're all human and we often get lost in our own little worlds and forget to show our appreciation for the ones we love.

And what better way to spoil your Mum (or whoever!) than with a gorgeous box of chocolates?!
Butler's Chocolate Selection is perfectly wrapped for Mother's Day and tied with a pretty pink ribbon.
Once your Mum opens the box, she'll find their luxury Irish chocolate truffles and pralines
with flavours like walnut ganache, chocolate flake, crispy praline and raspberry sorbet.

You can buy the chocolates online or from a number of stockists around the country - just see their facebook page to find out your closest store!

So tell me,
What's the best thing about your Mum?
and what's your favourite chocolate flavour?

Cereal Killer

Breakfast is hands down my favourite meal of the day.
Whether it be a steaming hot bowl of oatmeal or a refreshing bowl of cereal I'm all for it!

Cereal also happens to be one of my favourite foods, I actually think it should be an entire food group on its own.
I'll eat it for breakfast with a bunch of creative toppings and I'll eat it as a snack or for dessert.
To be completely honest, I'd eat breakfast foods at every meal.

Back to Nature have a line of delicious cereals that are made from all natural ingredients and aren't overly processed.
In fact, the Apple, Apricot & Almond Farmer's Choice Cereal was already making regular appearances in my breakfast bowl before this review was even thought about!

The Farmer's Choice cereals are much like a granola.
They're crunchy and full of flavour with a bit of chew from the dried fruit hidden inside the clusters.
The cereals are also wheat free and high in fibre and contain no added cane sugar.

I'd never tried the Apple, Cranberry and Cinnamon version before the review and I can safely say that...
I LOVE IT! and it will also be making regular appearances in my breakfast bowl.
I love eating them with milk or yogurt and fresh fruit and adding whatever nuts or dried fruits that may take my fancy
as well as adding them as a crunchy topping to my oatmeal or mixing it with cottage cheese.
(I know, I know - people have an automatic "EW" reaction to cottage cheese, but I love it - don't knock it till you try it)

Now my only problem is choosing which flavour I want to have that morning!

The Apple, Apricot and Almond Bitez are bite sized muesli bars with all the flavour of the Farmer's Choice Cereal.
They are delicious! I love chewy muesli bars so these were absolutely perfect, they have the same feel as a freshly made oatmeal cookie.

You might be thinking BUT THEY'RE SO SMALL?!?! and don't worry - I was too.
However they are really satisfying, proof that size isn't everything!
They've become a snacking staple and I have a few stashed in my purse for when the hunger monster attacks.

The Waffle Bitez and Cookie Bitez are super fun cereals perfect for little ones
(or people who like me who still loveeeeeee and devour childish foods :P)

I loved the Cookie Bitez on their own. (I'm a huge dry cereal fan)
They're a great snacking cereal and perfect for adding to yogurt bowls.
They're just sweet enough and have no artificial colours, flavour or preservatives.
Plus, the little cookies are ridiculously cute - perfect for cookie monsters!

The Cookie Bitez and Waffle Bitez are also gluten and wheat free - so they're perfect for those with intolerances or sensitive tummies.

The Waffle Bitez I was a little disappointed with,
on their own they didn't have much flavour at all and in milk they turned soggy quite quickly.
I would've loved a stronger maple flavour, which was what I was expecting.
However, they hold up quite well in yogurt and work as a base cereal for adding yummy toppings.

You can find Back to Nature Cereals at Coles and Woolworths stores in the "Health Food" aisle
as well as in health food stores and independent grocery chains.
But I have to say - you MUST try the Farmer's Choice Cereals (especially the apricot one!) you won't regret it!

But tell me -
What's your favourite meal of the day?
and What's your favourite cereal?

I already told you I love the Apple, Apricot and Almond Farmers choice cereal,
but some of my other favourites are muesli (any kind, really), honey oat cheerios and UT's Honey High Fibre Bites.

Oh and DON'T FORGET!

Running behind

Christmas is fast approaching.
The tree is up, the lights are on and christmas music fills the air of shopping centres.
Oh and don't forget Santa!

Speaking of Santa,
I've been a bit of a bad santa this year.
Christmas seems to have snuck up on me
and I've still yet to buy a lot of Christmas presents!
It doesn't help that I have a few recipients who are ridiculously hard to buy for..

I'm a bit fussy when it comes to giving gifts.
I always want to find that perfect one so that my gift isn't the one that gets shoved in the bottom of the drawer.
(Though I still don't know whether that happens :P)

I thought I'd share a few gift ideas with you in the days leading up til Christmas
afterall - the holidays are a time for sharing, right?

For the Cafe Junkie
Do you know someone who just can't have a day out without stepping into a cafe (or several)
or maybe someone who has a takeaway coffee cup permanently attached to their hand?
Why not give them a cafe experience at home?
Bondi Chai is a blend of black tea, honey, vanilla and exotic spices that is so easy to make at home
and tastes just like what you'd get in a fancy cafe (or maybe better!)
It's usually served latte style - but the recipe section of the site has some fantastic ideas.
Bondi Chai ice cream sounds like a perfect summer treat!

Being the oatmeal fan I am - I decided the powder is a perfect addition to oatmeal.
Sweet, spicy and full of flavour.

Bondi Chai comes in two flavours - Vanilla Honey and Club Cinnamon.
Vanilla Honey was my favourite with the sweetness of the honey and the rich vanilla flavour
- it actually has a flavour similar to that of a sweet custard or cake
but the Club Cinnamon is perfect for someone who likes a bit of spice!

So how would you give someone a bag of chai powder?
Is that what you're thinking? Well do I have a solution for you!
Take a box or a basket, a little tissue paper to line the bottom
add the chai powder and a cute mug
and maybe even some tasty treats for your lucky recipient to enjoy with their chai latte
and then all you have left to do is wrap it up and tie a big bow!

Have a look here to find out where you can get some for yourself!

For someone who needs a little pampering or a pampered princess

It can be so easy to forget about looking after ourselves
sometimes we just need a little reminder!

There's a few women in my life who need to remember to look after themselves sometimes!
Sure - you could give them a voucher for a spa day or a massage
but will they use it? Hmmmmm.

Absolutely Gorgeous has a divine skin care range that is a perfect christmas gift or stocking stuffer.
Absolutely Gorgeous is committed to natural beauty - so their range is full of skin and body care products that use only pure, organic and chemical free ingredients.

You could purchase one of Absolutely Gorgeous's gift packs
or put together your own pamper hamper for that special someone.

Absolutely Gorgeous even have a baby care range perfect for new bubs and why not pick up something to pamper that new mum too!

Just head to Absolutely Gorgeous to buy online, or have a look at their stockists

So tell me -
are you a more organised Santa than me?
or has Christmas crept up on you too?

and What's the best gift you've ever received for Christmas?
