I'm still here!

I've been MIA lately as I've been busy busy busy!
But fear not, I'm back!

I spent all of last week playing with candy.
I've had chocolate under my finger nails, marshmallow dust in my hair and constantly sticky fingers.

Am I opening up a lolly shop?
Am I the next Willy Wonka?
Has my sweet tooth come back full force?
Have I totally changed my career?

The answer to all of the above is...... nope.

Truth is, I've been working.
Here's a little sneak peek as to what I've been doing!

I'll share more soon! and details too!

I haven't baked for what seems like forever!
I think I may be having withdrawals so baking will (hopefully) commence soon!

Australia Day has also snuck up on me, so I'm thinking I may need to whip up an Australianized dessert.
Any ideas?!

But do tell me,
If you could have a lifetime supply of any candy, what would it be?
and how will you be celebrating Australia Day?
(if you're Australian, that is! - or maybe you just love Australia!)

  1. Good to see you back! And you've got a lot of patience to be playing with candy in this sort of weather *faint*

  2. You, my Kristy, are such a talented young lady! I also can't imagine playing with candy in such hot weather... You really are dedicated and brave!

Baking is so theraputic. I hope you can get back into it soon!

There's always the traditional lamingtons and pavlova, but I think they get a little borning after a while. Maybe you could get creative and make... Lamington brownies or something ridiculously morish like that! ;)
I KNOW you will think of something!

  3. Ooh, now that's my kind of work! :) Welcome back, I've missed your posts.

Australian desserts... hmm, maybe you could make something using a traditional bush food? Perhaps lemon myrtle cheesecake or Kakadu plum jam drops? Something a bit different, anyway :)

  4. Rita - The heat has been a little bit of an issue! Especially when you add lighting into the mix! I think the key is working FAST. Lightning speed!!

Eleanor - Lamington Brownies?! Jeez girl you are a genius!

Kate - I've never used lemon myrtle but I think it's something I shall try very soon. Kakadu plum jam sounds delicious! I must find some.

  7. Allie - Australia day is very much a day for family and friends to get together and have a good time, whether it be at the beach or a barbeque at a friends house :) Actually it's much like 4th of July parties! Food, friends, family and fun

Simon - Who knows, a candy shop could be in my future some day! Haha

  8. Kristy, I would give anything to be in Australia with you celebrating. well it would be a belated celebration right now but I would still celebrate hehe.

And if I could have a lifetime supply of candy i would have a hard time choosing just one. especially when i crave so many different types from chocolate varieties like reese's peanut butter cups to caramel taffy and salt water taffy, to wine gums and hot tamales <3

    xoxo

  9. I always have a hard time picking favourites! When it comes to making decisions, I'm horrible - so a lifetime supply of candy would be a hard thing to decide on :P
