the wombats(?) go marching one by one hoorah hoorah!

Recently I was sent some Orgran products to review.
The first on my list were the 'Outback Animal Cookies' in both vanilla and chocolate.
These cookies are:
  • gluten free
  • wheat free
  • dairy free
  • egg free
  • yeast free
  • GMO free
  • soy free
  • nut free
  • vegan
So they're perfect for people with allergies or those who follow a vegan diet.
The cookies also have 12.8% dietary fibre.

The cookies are available in two different packs - Loosely boxed or a bag or 8 individually portioned snack packs.
The snack packs, at 22 grams per pack, are perfect for on-the-go snacks or a treat in kids lunch boxes.

The cookies themselves were quite nice,
personally I prefered the chocolate cookies as they had a richer flavour.
The vanilla cookies were quite plain, but still enjoyable.

The texture is much different from regular cookies (for instance Tiny Teddies) due to the use of rice and pea flour,
the cookies themselves aren't overly sweet and I'm sure kids would love them.

The individual packs would be great for kids to share with friends who may have allergies,
or for parent's planning kids birthday parties where guests have intolerances.

Orgran's Outback Animals are found in Health food stores and the health food section of most supermarkets.
My taste testers and I have given them a 7/10 ratingand agree these would be perfect for people with allergies or those with a strict diet :)

Now I want to know,
is there an "on the go" food you carry with you?

Forget coffee beans! I'll have jelly beans any day.

The lovely people from Jelly Belly Australia were kind enough to send me some of their jelly beans.
I had 49 different flavours in front of me plus some of their Sour Jelly beans - That's 59 Flavours all up.
So I gathered my un-official taste testers.

Jelly beans are fun,
Their shape is fun and their size
and they always remind me of parties I had when I was little.

The 59 different flavours also made it a whole lot of fun,
as we scrambled to find the flavour we were looking for.
Sometimes the root beer jelly bean we thought we had turned out to be cappucino.
or the green apple was actually jalapeno.

It almost turns the whole experience into a lucky dip.
And you can make jelly bellys more fun by using the recipes

With 49 original flavours plus 10 sour flavours,
there's something to please everybody
from little kids to grandparents.

My favourite flavour is definitely licorice,
much to my boyfriends disgust :P
I'm a bigggg licorice fan, so a licorice jelly bean = <3

I also really liked the sour flavours,
they were packed with flavour like the original jelly bellys
but I did think they were lacking a little bit of that sour punch.
But that's probably just because I'm a big sour candy fan.

My taste testers and I really enjoyed the Jelly Belly Jelly beans
and have given them a 9.5/10 rating!
Only because the sour ones weren't as sour as we'd like.

And now,
I have a pretty jar of jelly beans displayed on my kitchen counter.
Cute and delicious!

Jelly Belly products are available from a whole variety of stores -
To find where you can get Jelly Belly products near you click here!
See their official flavour guide here!
And you can also buy in bulk right here in either assorted flavours or single flavours!
Remember people, I like licorice! :P

Now I want to know something -
What's you favourite jelly bean flavour?

Edit: I have a new favourite... ROOT BEER :D

Today I spent the morning at the Sydney Royal Easter Show's Showbag Launch,
And so did the kids from The Children's Hospital at Westmead and from Royal Far West
as well as a whole bunch of mums, dads, grandparents and people from the media.

The morning started with a petting zoo for the kids, who were the SRES's official show bag testers.
There were chickens, ducks, calves, lambs, calves, a pony and even a donkey.

the event then moved inside where Michael Collins, General manager of the easter show
revealed the predictions for the top 10 showbags of 2010

What are the predictions for the top 10 showbags of 2010, I hear you ask?

time to breaaaathhhheeeee.....
and that wasn't even all of them

Michael Collin's challenge to 2010's showgoers? To unleash their inner superhero.
Of the 302 showbags unveiled at the launch 1/3 are under $10.00,
Meaning our wallets won't have to leave empty.

There are the old classics such as Bertie Beetle and the new favourites like LA ink and the Backyardigans.
There are definitely showbags for people of all ages - and I definitely have my eye on the Darrell Lea Bags

 from the M&M's super bag

the stars of some of the show bags even paid a visit

as well as the TMNT and Carebears there was Batman, Freddo and My Little Pony,
the characters played with the kids while they ran around excitedly choosing their showbags.

from what I saw, the "Showbag testers"were estatic - some overwhelmed by their sheer number of showbags,
Looking at their mum's and dad's like "can I really have this?!"

the Easter show is just 5 weeks away
and by buying your tickets online you can save heaps - 15% on family tickets.
so have a look at the Easter Show Website
where you can find information on everything that's going to be happening
as well as information and pictures of ALL 302 showbags

Thankyou to Kate for inviting me to the Showbag Launch - It was a pleasure attending the event.

I want to know your favourite easter show experience! Comment and tell me all about it :D
